Hey guys, the below reviews are copies of emails sent to me from customers over some of the time I’ve been making Ancoats gear. I have stopped uploading anything to here, as the site is now switched on for reviews to be directly left on the product pages.

I may come back to dropping messages on here, but for now, when you see the last review was in 2022, don’t panic, I haven’t stopped making! And customers are still happy!

The utility case just arrived and I am thrilled with it.

Thanks so much for the email! And yes it arrived yesterday and OMG am I in love with your craftsmanship and attention to detail! Hands down this is by far my favorite bag of all time! It definitely ticks all the boxes for me, from materials to build quality.


Your suggestion regarding the d-rings to keep the loose straps tidy, is amazing! I just love everything you've done with the bag, from the subtle black exterior to the blistering orange interior.


Again, I should be thanking you for this amazing piece, because it is really well and truly a piece of art.

Hi John,

Thank you for the follow-up; shows genuine interest in not only your products, but also your (growing) customer base
I picked up the bag Tuesday, and am so far extremely pleased with my (girlfriends ) choice of your bag as a soon-to-be daily EDC-bag

The bag will be replacing my usual go-to EDC, the Mission Workshop Rhake in combination with a custom-made D4_bag - going for a less-techy vibe and a more refined subtle tech instead (which I find your bag, especially with the choice of materials, to fit very well into - in addition to the shift in overall carry aesthetic in terms of the tote rather than backpack/sling).

Thank you for your correspondences so far, and for an amazing bag in excellent build-quality.

Just want to let you know the tote has safely arrived, although U.S. customs had taken a peek before me . Besides that, I'm truly impressed, everything is how I had expected it to be, plus more. I love the weight and quality of the fabric and the bag as a whole. The craftsmanship is superb, I can tell this bag will be with me for many years to come. Hi John,

I wanted to let you know that the tote has safely arrived across the pond here in America, and I am blown away by the bag. It’s perfect, I can just feel the quality when I hold it, and I love it. Pictures don’t really do it justice, it’s brilliant. I’ve already packed it up with my daily work gear and it fits it all wonderfully, and just as I suspected, the XPAC does a wonderful job shedding the dog hair.

I was planning on taking some nice pictures of it and i am happy to share with you for the instagrams if they meet your needs.

Thanks for the follow up but it must be an error from the mailing service here. I already retrieved my tote a few days ago and I love it !

It look and feels awesome, you can be proud of your work ! The materials feels qualitative and robust. I especially like the sound those buckles make ! I also had the "chance" to test my bag's resistance to weather and it did keep everything inside safe and dry.

…just to say that I’m so pleased with my new bag!! I opened it that night and the experience of unwrapping the black paper and seeing the bag for the first time and that rich blue strap was really special! I love the craftmanship and the quality of everything! and knowing it was handmade by you in Ancoats is totally awesome! I really love the outer zip for some reason it has that real waterproof tech feel and the pullers attached are a great touch! Everything about it just oozes cool!! Im really proud to wear it and find my self wanting people to ask me where it is from!! I need to upgrade the rest of my life now to match!!
