ZERO DUTY
The Ancoats Bag Company products are all made to order, right here in the Ancoats studio in Manchester, UK. Therefore, they DO meet the Rules of Origin parameter that should give them a Zero Duty rating for mainland Europe / Members of the EU. This is clearly marked on the Customs Declaration I make and I now also include a copy of your original invoice in the outer window, so that Customs services have everything they need to process your shipment efficiently.
VAT
You will now be charged VAT at the rate applicable in your nation. Approx 21%.
Courier Admin Fees
The courier, or final delivery service may add an admin fee to the invoice you get prior to delivery. This is to cover them taking care of the import logistics and paperwork / drinking an extra cup of “not our problem” before getting your awesome bags out to you ;-)
All the above being now clear, European Orders are fully back ON! but must make clear that these additional charges will be required before delivery and they are your responsibility. As with all Totes ever shipped, I closely track them and battle hard to make sure you receive your order. I don’t relax about your order until it is made, shipped AND delivered. Never the less, this aspect is an unfortunate reality that comes as part of the new normal for the UK & Europe trading arrangements. I hope you can stick with me, and that they joy of receiving an Ancoats Custom made bag with Heart and Soul in every stitch out weighs all the nonsense of Brexit.
