An Over-Nighter carry piece in the classic Scottish waxed Canvas. The Original Performance Fabric!

After many years of building the Ancoats Totes, we’ve recently begun using Halley Stevensons Waxed Cotton! A 405gsm waxed canvas with a solid, structured hand. Not overly stiff, but with enough weight to hold its shape and take a beating.

It works so well with Ancoats’ clean style and classic labelling. We’ve used a lightweight Halley Stevensons waxed cotton on the lining too, making this an elevated lifestyle piece - but with that Ancoats Bag Company adaptable architecture underneath!

THIS is the Field Diplomat.

The Diplomat construction has been tweaked to get the best from the waxed fabric, with the addition of a soft padding to the pocket panels for a “quilted” feel, and the pockets also then lined. The fabric and construction change the whole look and feel of the Ancoats Bags.

So, aesthetically, it has a very different impact.

Functionally, the Field Diplomat also steps up from the smaller Diplomats: it’s pretty much a triple-wide 18” compatible version, with different internals: a laptop sleeve on one side and twin padded drop pockets on the opposite side…but it doesn’t stop there…

Externally we have the twin open drop pockets to the front, and now a full width zipped drop pocket to the rear.

Slightly longer hand carry handles in the classic 50mm front x 40mm rear width of Nylon webbing.

Finally it has the off-set / asymmetrically fixed ‘D’ rings for the included cross body strap to be fitted, for, of course, cross body carry!

It’s got that weekend away to the countryside vibe on lockdown, right at home in your Land Rover Defender, but somehow feels like it would elevate a gym session, sitting on the bench while you channel your inner Rocky on the heavy bag.
